hi, i have been a rras server as a vpn server and gave the vpn clients static ip from range. the subnet mask is 255.255.255.255 and i can ping between vpn clients but cannot see them on the network. If VPN subnet translation is configured, the translated subnet will automatically be advertised to all remote site-to-site VPN participants. In this example, in order for the web server at 172.16.30.8 to communicate with the example client, traffic must be sent to 10.15.30.44 (the equivalent IP offset within the translated subnet). OpenVPN uses this subnet (i.e. 4 private IP addresses per client) in order to provide compatibility with Windows clients due to the limitation of the TAP-Win32 driver's TUN emulation mode. If you know that only non-Windows clients will be connecting to your OpenVPN server, you can avoid this behavior by using the ifconfig-pool-linear directive.
I created the VPN tunnel from my local subnet 80 to their local subnet 90 with a NAT exemption rule (this is necessary otherwise the ASA will try to NAT subnet 80). After the tunnel was created I added another regular NAT rule to translate subnet 144 to 80 and that was it. Works like a charm.
